Lake Corpus Christi State Park is situated on the shores of a 21,000-acre reservoir in South Texas and water recreation is the number-one attraction. Visitors come to swim, ski, jet ski, sail or boat all year-round. The lake also provides glorious fishing alternatives.

The name ‘Corpus Christi’ is Latin for ‘the body of Christ’. This jubilant pageant is nicely known by Roman Catholics and different Christians to proclaim the truth of the transubstantiation of bread and wine into the actual body of Christ throughout Mass.

Corpus Christi began as a frontier trading publish, based in 1838-39 by Colonel Henry Lawrence Kinney, adventurer-impresario-colonizer. The small settlement, hard-bitten and lawless was called Kinney’s Trading Post, or Kinney’s Ranch.
